Medtech Condoms

Female condoms are a new invention and there is a lot of ignorance about their utility and usage. Such condoms can empower women in regard to their sexual health. It is extensively seen that women are the worst sufferers from STDs. This is why condom manufacturing companies in the UK have invented women’s condoms that offer protection for women from pregnancy and other sexually transmitted diseases. However, there are still many who are skeptical about the use of this contraception.

In order to clarify the doubts of the users, research has been conducted over 1400 women patients at a STD clinic. These women were evaluated to find out whether they had any symptoms of chlamydia, syphilis and gonorrhea. It was found that the rate of the STDs was 25% higher in case of the male condom users than the female condom users. What is the difference between 9mm .40 cal and .45 cal? Whats good for a beginner? whats good for a woman?

Depends on the woman. My wife is 5'4″ with a petite build and shoots my full-size 9mm autos just fine.

The differences, as has been mentioned, are bullet diameter or caliber, bullet weight, muzzle velocity and muzzle energy. A 9mm bullet is .355 inches in diameter, a .40 S&W (Smith & Wesson) is .4005 inches in diameter and a .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) is .452 inches in diameter.

An earlier respondent noted that a .38 Special revolver is an excellent starter gun. But to be honest, the best starter gun is really one chambered for .22 long rifle. Not the world's best self-defense round, but easily the world's best training caliber. In the first place, both guns and ammunition are less expensive. You can get a first-rate .22 automatic for less than $350.00 and ammunition is a few cents a round compared to a fifty cents or more per round for centerfire ammo. This will allow you to become completely familiar wit firearm safety, proper gun handling and get in plenty of practice shooting.

If you're going straight to the big leagues, I would really suggest a .38 Special revolver in stainless steel, like a Ruger SP101 or a Smith & Wesson Model 60. Don't be tempted by the Airweights or Scandium-framed revolvers or something like the Ruger LCP. Yes, they are lightweight but that's the problem. You need the gun to have some weight to soak up the recoil.

If you decide to go with an automatic, I recommend the 9mm. It has less recoil and the ammunition is less expensive than either .40 S&W or .45 ACP. As to a specific pistol, there are so many good ones it's best for you to visit a gun shop or sporting goods store to see which one fits best in your and and feels the best to you. Automatics with double-stack magazines hold more cartridges but have wider grips, which, depending on the size of your hand, may be an issue, in which case a pistol with a single-stack magazine may be more comfortable. A pistol with a large cartridge capacity is also going to weigh more than a pistol with a single-stack magazine.

I have two 9mm pistols, a Beretta PX4 Storm with a 17-round magazine and a FN-Herstal FNP-9 with a 16-round magazine. I am fine with both but my wife prefers the Beretta because its grip is more rounded and easier for her to hold comfortably. If those don't suit you, try a SIG Sauer, Walther, Taurus, Ruger SR9, Springfield or Glock. All are good guns.

One last thing: when you buy a gun for self-defense, don't cheap out. A well-maintained quality firearm will last a lifetime and be ready for action when you need it. If you're tempted to cut corners, just ask yourself how much your life is worth?
